we call it a 'cross spider' or kruisspin in Dutch, because of the white cross on it's back, there are usually very many of them this time of year

I, for one, am glad to miss the spider, but totally psyched to see your porch - it is so cool, so liveable, so breathing with nature... I just love it! (and the angel quilt... my goodness!)

yes, I can enter my blog again and comment! the verandah/porch is our spring-summer-autumn room; after a very wet summer about 10 years ago spent underneath a huge parasol (haha no sun lots of rain) I built it as a birthday present for my husband, it really is a good place to live and breathe.....
