silent night, holy night?

It's Christmas Eve and The Dwelling is definitely starting to buzz, what with all the New arrivals and Old familiar faces
Let's enter and see for ourselves what is happening....

The NutCracker Brothers are there to welcome us, standing guard and ready to open the doors to all who have come to join in with the merrymaking and jolly festivities!

Despite his somewhat surly countenance I do believe this one would very much appreciate a kiss or two, as he has most deliberately positioned himself under the mistletoe whilst handing out drinks to  all who enter The Dwelling!
Is it quiet? Is there somewhere to put up my legs and doze off? Not here anyway, as guests continue to arrive.....
I'll just pop into the study where I spotted the fire burning. Oh my gosh, what is that infernal noise: Gorilla's drumming away with the Tiny Twins rapping to their hearts' delight. I think I will hastily move along, 'Hello and Bye, see you all later,' I manage as I stumble out of one room into the next.

Maybe there we can find a bit of peace&quiet, as it is the Meditation room. Nope, Tiny Santa yelled 'Let's have a Santa Race' and look at all those who leaped to the opportunity to dash and prance about! Donkey with SnowMan melting away. Monkey frolicking about on his hands and feet. Mousey cycling happily on her blue bike. Turtle slowly but surely taking the lead, or maybe it's Mole up front. Who knows at this point? Isn't that one of the Hedgehogs as well. Duckie, who was on his way to the kitchen with the fresh fish, was easily distracted by the riot and hurried to join in.....Even Mother Pig and two of her piglets are seen to be trotting in circles.....Okay then, we will wander upstairs to see who else is here. Who knows we might find an empty chair to sit on.

Ha, BigFrog is filling the Christmas hearts with sweets, eating them too by the look on his face, which is turning decidedly green. 'The filled hearts are supposed to be tree decorations BigFrog,' the stern faced Duck comments!

At the same time a cat and a mouse are busy playing with the telephone, no wonder nobody's answering when I ring.

We move on into the kitchen, most certainly not a quiet place to be on this so-called silent night, with three stoves roaring at this very moment. Ratatouille, Chef & Marge Simpson have been chopping and slicing, cooking, basting and baking for several days now! Whilst the never-ending washing up is driving Crocodile nearly nuts. 'Keep calm & carry on,' Snowy chants to herself as much as the others.....

DutchBoy makes another pot of coffee to help keep everyone going. I doubt we are going to find peace here....and I go in search of a glass of wine.

In the Dining Room we are just in time to witness The Spirit Of Christmas' entrance. Although he might feel a tad underwhelmed by the entourage as nobody in particular seems to have noticed him. For a Thristy Angel, Lion and Snail were just serving drinks.....

......and OBK - dressed in his finest - has unwrapped his Christmas present: a box of cigarillos, he is so very pleased and gushinly thanks everyone for this most excellent of gifts! TomCat is already tipsy and fooling around with the decorations, dear Barbie is too distracted by the gorgeous Doggie to notice the Spirit, or me.

Let's see if there is a room with no disturbance.
On the next landing The Hanging Monkey is definitely eavesdropping on the Pixies not-so-private conversation. We'll just slip past them.

The Studio seems empty, but no, the choir has just finished choir practise and is now listening intently to Luke, our Australian friend, as he talks about their ArtWork. The tiny birds have been painting this afternoon, much to their delight with Luke who, so it turns out is an excellent Art teacher. Who knew? But his voice is small, so we'll tip toe out of here so as not to further disturb them....

On into the Sewing Room, where the Chinese maidens are diligently writing Christmas cards, or maybe New Year's Greetings as Xmas has almost been&gone. The Pretty Lady (who is far too dainty to be holding a pen but rather spends her time combing her hair) is being courted by a new admirer: Silver Bird!

Although that designer chair looks inviting I'm not going to sit there as I'm worried someone will put me to work and make me start sewing Christmas outfits....

Would love to stay for a chat, but also feeling tired after the long journey here, and in desperate need of a nap, the search continues....
Onwards and upwards, perchance one of the bedrooms holds a place to rest our weary heads?!

The Dino Bros seem to be having a ball in the bath tub, and the small critters' bedroom is full to capacity. Squirm is making loud noises as he is being forced to bathe, the stench! Gotta get out quick.

Finally we reach OBK's inner sanctum. Phew! Who should we find here? Frog!!!! Asleep in OBK's bed!!! Of course he is. I guess I am going to have to Imagine Peace, thanks to Liz.

I wish you all a Good Night,
PeaceFull Holidays with as many Loved Ones as you can stomach,
good food and drinks, time to relax and enjoy it all

Saskia~ What an absolutely wonderful treat tonight!! I was just thinking about The Dwelling. I was remembering the treasures of my childhood I sent on to you and the great stories that have come from everyone joining together under that one roof. It was so heart-filling to see the twins, Mr. PR, DOG (especially DOG) and the others. They look to be having a grand time filled with food, fun and good friends. Thank you Saskia, what a gift you've shared!! xo

The Dwellers together with all their guests have been celebrating now for several days, and I'm sure they will continue to do so well into the New Year;-)
Your childhood companions have become some of the main characters in The Dwelling Nancy! so a BIG THANK YOU to you for entrusting them to my care xXx

oh what fun we had Dee: my family (plus sister, brother, their spouses and all our kids, 16 in total) at the dinner table in our home; I imagine it was a lot more peaceful than The Dwellers' dinner party which by all accounts ended with everyone (including OBK!) dancing on tables......thank goodness no bones broken;-)
