Paris, June haikus

June's haikus

I used pages cut to size (May's pages being the guide here) from a second-hand book on Estonian art, which I was not going to read for obvious reasons
After day one I tried to match the image to the words, albeit in a roundabout sort of way
I like that they are mostly black & white

Paris for a weekend! with three girlfriends! it was so much fun, I tend to forget to have fun, I do not consider self a fun person, suppose we cannot change who we are, but anyway we had fun, G&T's before noon on the trainride there helped set the mood....

we rediscovered the area just north-west of Gare du Nord, as we wandered from there up to the museum Halles St. Pierre (our raison d'être for the trip). The neighbourhood is full of shops selling all items of clothing: especially it seemed wedding dresses, three piece suits, high heels, pretty fabrics and gaudy frocks, frills and sequins galore, everything one needs for a lavish party look

handsome fella, there were quite a few of those hanging about the shop entrances, I did not feel comfortable taking photo's of them all the time, one is enough;-)

very tempting but I was able to resist
it would be worth one's while to grab a train just to buy fabrics
when booked well in advance it's € 70 for a return ticket and only 2,5 hours from Rotterdam Central station to Gare du Nord

"come on top of the clouds where intolerance does not exist"
if only

lit a candle for my parents
- who were not religious
but still
it felt good -

our airb&b turned out to be super close to

la Place de la République!

an exciting square in Paris, folk gather here for all sorts of demonstrations and celebrations on a large scale

we were just in time to do some essential shopping in one of my favourite shops on earth! Le Tampographe Sardon * only open on Saturdays from 11 till 19 (asked for permission to take the photographs)

another lovely shop where I bought fancy (and expensive) hand/foot cream

@jbpellerin:  small framed photographs, glued to the walls all over Paris click here

upside down police car graffiti all over the place too

le Sacre Coeur
oddly moving

Paris remains wonderful
may you get to travel where your hearts desire
may Summer bring us all some sun
and rain where there's too much!

Sounds like a blast. You’re like me. I photographed graffiti all over Rome and Florence.

Using book pages for your haiku is such a great idea. I’m enjoying following along on Instagram.

To see the world through your eyes...to see a world I will never see in person is to know than I thought I may. Thanks for packing us in your suitcase and taking us along. :)

hahahahahaha Maria, you and many others I know are quite content with the temperatures remaining below average:-))
I am fortunate to be able to sweat and if it's all too much I can go for a swim in the river nearby, sun & rain are welcome

yes to see the world through another person's eyes Nancy
I am grateful for your wander-tours in California, I doubt I'll ever get to visit in person, for now we can travel virtually, side-by-side
