'now that I'm free to be myself, who am I ?'

as so often is the case someone has said it more eloquently than I can, in casu Mary Oliver

I want to float

drift

let go

what do I want?

a question I've been wrestling with as of late

weird how for years I never really asked myself, as if I was expecting someone to tell me it's okay to say 'I want....'

dear doctor Freud himself stood perplexed, most likely because he himself was not a woman

the thoughts and stirrings within lead to images on paper

another thought-thread is word related - certain words hold within them a judgement - I've discovered others too are bothered by the Dutch and German  schaamlippen/Schamlippen for labia; both a literal translation from Latin pudenda, body parts you should feel ashamed of.
Just the other day De Dikke Van Dale, after years of campaigning by The Dolle Mina's and Schaamteloos*, announced it will add vulvalippen to the dictionary in the autumn.
Vulvalippen, nothing to be ashamed of.

also, swimming every morning continues as do my water-level observations, especially when I'm on my own:

a Kiekendief, Harrier, circles elegantly towards the water's surface and scoops up a water lily

Reiger vist = Heron fishing

Heron crouching, stares below the water's surface....a sudden swooooop, he's caught a fish!

Can you spot the tiny bright red flower on the Ipomoea quamoclit Kardinaalswinde, a cutting from a gardening friend? I had no idea there were any other types of Ipomoea, the garden has so much to teach me!
