more questions than answers

After my initial AI-enthusiasm last week, I realised soon after that first 'AI-conjunction-tale' this AI story telling is not for me.....at least not now, maybe never. I rather like how my stories/work-titles unfold as I'm slowly plodding along on paper and fabric, revealing the thoughts, feelings that are swirling in my mind.

I did start asking other kinds of questions, like 'how to sell my art' and got to talking with other folks who already use AI regularly and those who hold serious doubts about ever wanting to use AI.

I think the most important AI-lesson I've learned so far is that I don't have to be afraid of AI. Yes, I know, early days, and whatever AI might mean for us all is beyond me.

I should probably follow Nick Cave's advice more often.

I’ve used AI to ask marketing questions but feel guilty because its carbon footprint is so giant.

As usual, I love these pieces.

phew yes the carbon footprint Dee....this is a valid reason not to use it, and I'ld like to keep mine as low as possible, duh. We try and do our bit here.....We all make choices and it's hard never to go wrong, especially in Western societies where much of this cost is hidden, unless one goes looking for it in every step you take. Having said that [there's loads more to be said], my main focus is, as always, on the process, the actual physical aspect of making the pieces in my studio.....
They are what it's all about, my way to connect.
Glad you love them☺

It was a great joy to read that our one-time hometown of San Marcos, Texas just denied a data center request ... a no-brainer considering that there is talk of identifying our current situation as "drought of record" ... I'm inclined to think of AI in much the same terms as my sewing machine: if writing and stitching give me joy, then what's the rush to get to a finished product ... I'd rather enjoy the process and go slow

yes the process, slow and often cumbersome is what I too seem to enjoy most Liz. Glad the data centre didn't happen!
AI is not a quick fix for me, just something that could offer assistance, whenever I ask😉have not done so these past days, still painting, drawing, collaging and so forth.
I have been talking about AI with quite a few people, gathering intel as it were.....trying to understand what it's about.
I'm mostly relieved I'm learning more about something that is going to (is already) impact(ing) our lives.
Thanks for sharing here.

Saskia~ As always you critters are so full of creativity, displaying humor and challenge. I am in no need to do anything AI at the moment. Wouldn't even know how, truly. But, J. has been playing with it while making music. He's had fun having AI 'singers' sing his songs, both alone and with him and musicians whip through a song he has to practice. I can see how it is nice to hear what you hear (write) in your head fleshed out, especially when arthritis slows one down. But, as for me, I like the real thing.

the critters just keep coming Nancy, lucky me as I seem to have a lot of time these days.....AI remains intriguing to me, although I must confess to forgetting about it most days
