there are 5 seven by seven square pieces 'done' hanging on the right 5 are still five by five squares, soon to be seven by seven as well! I don't quite now how many I need for now I'm just cutting and ironing and stitching together.... things are going a lot faster than I had imagined possible my mind is at times racing ahead, looking forward to basting the layers together and actually quilting - my favourite running stitch - and then stitching onto the quilt, birds of course, a dog or two, a house, a tree
for now I am so enjoying the piecing together of the squares I really love it |

Saskia, in a spot between earth and sky, a forest of green patches appears and I could sleep so deeply under your special green cloth patches. Green is my favorite color and the bedspread on my bed is green, my sheets are various colors of green and most of my dyed cloth work in the bedroom has green because for me it is my go to soothing color and offers hope.
love seeing the progress on your quilt and hope your health issues get better every day
Saskia~ This quilt is chalk full of happy colors and prints. The blue and white reminds me of my daughter's "Dorothy" (from The Wizard of Oz) dress :) May your health improve greatly and quickly. I have a passel of creatures clamoring to head out to The Dwelling! xo
My late December and all of January I was ill and without energy...still not quite right but up and at'em and this is a most delightful post indeed. I started one a few years ago but never got past piling up little squares. Such a pleasure to visit when you post.
Sorry to hear you have health problems, many people don't seem to blog so much these days, including myself. I always look forward to reading your blogs when they do arrive.
Sorry you're struggling with health issues but what a gift that you are able to sit and stich ... surrounding yourself with such a warm and wonderful quilt. It is coming along beautifully..
hey saskia , you sew by hand, ik met de machine reeds van m'n 11 jaar , doe dat héél graag , maar borduren dat is handwerk and i like to do that eather , neem je tijd maar om te herstellen ( terwijl je versteld de lapjes aan elkaar , connecting pieces , big hug ( by p c )
Beauty and comfort in the simplicity. Lovely work by a lovely lady. Blessings sent your way for restoration of health.

thank you for visiting Michelle, sorry to read you were ill for so long, feeling poorly is such a drag and energy drain
thanks to you too Debbie, health is improving; don't know why I don't blog so much any more, 'cos that started before I fell ill, maybe the whole online world is too distracting....
Tina it is such a comfort and joy to be working on such a large piece, I would never have guessed it would be so much fun! thanks for dropping by
dankjewel Maria, het is heerlijk om zoveel met de hand te naaien, dat had ik een paar jaar geleden nooit kunnen denken
blessings gratefully accepted Sue; I am just going to keep on stitching and suddenly one day, it will be done!
I have used your technique for the patching Jude, and I have realised it really makes sense for the quilting, so a huge thank you to you!
