quite Maris, staying in Europe, France no less, as he is very interested in politics he is so looking forward to living in the country of En Marche

Tres bien Philosopher that you are going to live with Fanny in France. Congratulations Fanny on your new friend. I'm sure you will both have many wonderful adventures.

I hold good memories of a week spent in France many, many years ago. We visited museums, many historical sites and restaurants when we were there in the 1970's. For me, and maybe it will be the same for you Philosopher, my most lasting and endearing memories are those of walking to little cafes and shops, buying a piece of fabulous cheese, eating wonderful bread and drinking excellent wine, later coffee, etc. I have not traveled much in Europe but of the places that I have been, what holds in my heart are the small, daily chance meetings, chatting to people even when you cannot speak their language very well, glimpses of daily life- these are what give me the essence of a country.
