state of flux

the Dwelling - doors closed
Big Changes, hence my absence here, plus change equals unrest, leading to unhinged, irregular routine, if you can call it that.
Anyway, coming to the point, in short: got fired, last job ended December 2017, entered UnemploymentBenefit-land, the weirdest of bureaucratic worlds, discovered I don't do forms well, got caught in catch22 loops; thought I had decided to take time off and rediscover the full-time working experience of the Studio, seriously started tidying up the Studio, continued in the Dwelling,  still could not stop, started helping my parents, then a friend of theirs...and then my light-bulb moment......
THIS is what I do pretty well & I enjoy it, and there are folks out there willing to pay for my services

What it boils down to is this: I want to start my own small business (still need a name in Dutch!)the business being 'tidying up your house, be it one room, the entire house from attic-to-cellar, hereby bringing order to your kitchen/bedroom closet/mind, whatever you feel needs decluttering'

The Dwelling now looks like this, not quite finished as I think I want to add paintings on the front, when the doors are closed and a few items have been added since I took these photos:

Buddha on the left requested a small pillow, for, as he explained, sitting on your bum for over 2500 years is at times hard!
BuddhaBird let him use his as he in turn wanted to get close and cosy with one of our new arrivals, a sweet little doll from E's house

an artist friend! Ms Smith bustled in, she is very articulate and (extremely) energetic: she has managed to finish several paintings, and two small pillows (none of them in the photos, sorry) as well as entertaining all who come and visit her in what is now a very nice Small Studio in the Dwelling

the violin playing hippo and grey mouse also wandered in from E's house; as you can see the musical performance is much appreciated by all who have gathered together in the Celebration Room; OBK is delighted to make their acquaintance

I was starting to worry a bit so am very happy that things have settled enough for you to post. I have a friend here that works for a small company called Rent A Daughter. She helps get her customers to different appointments. One woman she picks up and takes to a movie once a week ...also takes her grocery shopping. I could go on and on but really it is all stuff that an elderly person would call one of their children to help them with. My friend loves it.I will pray to the universe for you to have success in this venture.

I, too, was fired from my job five years ago this month. It was humiliating, but so freeing. I probably would have dragged on for years in that dismal place. I wish you wonderful success in your new endeavors and the joy of a future more your own.

A new living (right livelihood) in the service of others. What
a fine idea! Wish you were closer to Virginia, USA...I'd hire you.

it feels like the most logical next step right now, Mo

how sweet of you Tina! and I love this rentadaughter concept, I sense it runs along the same idea I have in mind....maybe I could use this thought-thread for my company name

thanks Dana, I am elated, truth be told, this was the kick-in-the-ass I needed

hi Patty, thanks for the vote of confidence, I'll use you as a reference then:-)
i think it will work. It's such a relief for people to find a solution to things that weigh heavy on them. I look forward to hearing how this goes
and love the dwelling...seeing all the familiar is a comfort

Hi Saskia...sorry to hear about all this turmoil, but, hopefully, your new path will be the tonic you need! Love all your little dwellings. I must get my dollhouse in a place where I can easily "play." Perhaps some of your villagers and mine can communicate. Blessings.

I have a good feeling about this Grace, will keep you posted; yes I imagine the familiar is comforting

no need to be sorry Sue, I am very happy it all happened as it did; how lovely it would be for the small critters to get in touch with one another, ha!

I will be waiting to hear how this new work situation goes for you and wishing you the best.
Other than that...I'm speechless at seeing the dwelling. So many feelings come up. I've been here at least 3 times looking long at each picture. Seeing DOG in his new home warms my heart like no other. My fondness for DOG is so strong :) I'm glad he is among friends.

we too are very fond of DOG Nancy, he has such a kind, unassuming presence.
the Dwelling inhabitants are slowly but surely settling back into the refurbished surroundings, change can at times be awkward, however they have decided to embrace it & come to realise that that is sometimes what happens in my Studio......

can I come over and play? oh that dwelling!!! I got fired and collected unemployment, too and I, too, suck at forms (hence the firing). Good luck figuring it out. How about something with "Nest" in the title for a business?
