sam lee song

video from the television program Vrije Geluiden last Sunday, where we first saw Sam Lee, after which I immediately booked tickets for the concert on Thursday (photo's below) and we are now officially fans!
there's loads more on the internet: google www.samleesong.co.uk and enter his musical world
images from their live performance in RASA Utrecht, taken with my phone; there is a lot I could say about his music, but I suggest you listen and then decide whether you too love him as we do! we even have a signed CD

I love this video, not least for the amazing instruments: a duct-taped tiny guitar (which I initially thought was a ukulele) ... the cloth-muted drum and ankle bells ... the squeeze box (how cool is that?!?!) ... and the haunting voices echoed by the violin ...

Please let me know if you come by the lyrics for Over Yonders Hill (I couldn't find them online)

yes I thought you might like this Liz; here are the lyrics:
ON YONDERS HILL
On yonders hill there sits a hare/Full of worry grief and care/ And oh her lodgings they were bare/ Singing ho brave boys high ho/ And oh her lodgings they were bare/Singing ho brave boy high ho
And a huntsman he came riding by/All on that poor hare he cast his eye/And o’er the bogs allowed his dogs/Singing ho brave boys high ho/And o’er the bogs allowed his dogs/Singing ho brave boys high ho
And now she’s gone from hill tot hill/All on that best dog to try his skill/That would kill the poor hare that’s never done ill/Singing ho brave boys high ho/Singing ho brave boys high ho/That would kill the poor hare that’s never done ill/Singing ho brave boys high ho/Singing ho brave boys high ho
And now she’s turned and turned again/High ho, high ho/Merry as she trips over the plain/And may she live to run again/Singing ho brave boys high ho/And may she live to run again/Singing ho brave boys high ho/Singing ho brave boys high ho/Singing ho brave boys high ho
