'een fijn mens'

this afternoon I will be attending a collegue's funeral
shortly before christmas she was diagnosed with acute leukeamia, three weeks later she died at the age of 57
this entire week in the office has been strange, all colleagues have been sad, bewildered, undone....whilst working there was always the undercurrant of a sense of loss, we have cried and talked and hugged and sat staring into nothingness

she was a very fine person, optimistic, supportive, authentic, a lovely sense of humour, mother and grandmother; she will be missed

"One candle gives light to another without itself ceasing to burn. The light which has been given to us burns all the brighter for being offered to others."
reassuring words found in an old church in England by a friend long ago

goodmorning all, thank you for the kind words and thoughts, they do offer comfort; the funeral yesterday was another chapter in saying goodbye to her...it doesn't get easier, but it is what it is

All words fall short. We just go on and remember. So sorry.

Patty, Jan: we know it will happen to us all, but still the reality of it....humbling, painful, sad
